For me, the most exciting thing about working with children with special needs is bringing hope and joy to families. I love seeing children come to life in new ways; lighting up, starting to make sense of things, making connections with their parents and becoming happier, more comfortable and more contented. Parents have the same experience as I coach them through new ways of thinking and interacting with their child. I’ve really done my job well when they head home from a series feeling able to breath, smile, and enjoy their child and their life.
I am one of the most experienced practitioners of the Anat Baniel Method, and one of the few ABM practitioners who has vast and long-term experience helping children with special needs. I have been in private practice for 15 years and currently own my own neuromovement center in San Jose, California as well as traveling to work in the US and internationally with families and children.
I became a Guild-Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner after completing the 4-year training program with Anat Baniel. I next completed a 2-year program, also under Anat Baniel, working specifically with special needs children. Five years later, when Baniel’s work evolved and she began to train ABM practitioners, Baniel chose me to assist in training the first ABM graduates. I worked at the ABM Training Center from 2001 to 2007. After studying with Dr. Svetlana Masgutova (MNRI) I began to blend all of my skills to help children learn with excellent results.
